Hey MT35, I think I mentioned that my 89 was going to be a four-seater and the reason is the floor pan has to wrap around the driveshaft so that kind of makes the center seat tough. There's plenty of room if you don't need a trunk which I had molded in for that reason. I have my 98 Camaro rear seat and I should have as much space as the Camaro.

At one point I thought it would be cool to have it set up like a McClaren with a center seat and two side seat slightly back from the driver's seat to simulate  a center steer race car. But the spit window on the canopy kind of ruins that. I gueess it could be eliminated with a full windshield but the messes with the look of the car...

Your not going to believe this MT35 but did I ever tell you I'm half Japanese? That's what's weird about the internet you never know who you are talking to. Don't worry I'm not insulted or anything. Most Japanese are considered industrial and hard workers so that's a good thing, but they are also considered a little sneaky. Remember Pearl Harbor.....

I've lived all my life in California so I'm like the boy raised by wolves I don't know I'm different. My mom who is full blooded always wanted me to marry a Japanese girl but I married a total white girl. I like it because when I screw up she doesn't hesitate to tell me. I know your going to feel bad but really I'm in sales its really hard to insult me. Your Japanese pal...hahaha BWD

Yeah...that came out wrong.

I think i need to clear that one up a bit.   First, I'm really glad that i didn't insult you BWD, it actually wasn't meant to insult anyone, nor the Japanese community for that matter.  I honestly don't have anything against Japanese people.  I was just trying to put into view for the many people out there (who are smart enough not to live here) that don't live in Alabama that we have a Honda Plant, it manufactures the Honda Oddessy vans, and its entire upper management from what I've been told are all Japanese decent.

I'm by no means racist towards any race.   I can make friends with anyone, honest.  I don't care if your white, pink, black, brown, yellow, purple, or even if you put your jeans on backwards.....

...ok if you put your jeans on backwards i might question your sanity...

...but i'd still be your friend lol.

Anyway, i just don't want anyone out there to think i hate on people just because they are of a certain decent.   I'm just not like that .   For anyone else on the board out there i hope I didn't offend you either.     I was just trying to put things into perspective, honest.

I, personally, am more Irish than anything, i have a red tint in my beard, and most of my family history is Irish.   But i consider myself your average caucasian dude.  Though dress differently than anyone in my city, i dress Gothic.   I enjoy the color black, i like spikes, chains and all that who-hashy stuff.    The darker side of things have always seemed to attract me more than bright, cheerful colors.    I get picked on a lot, and threatened to be killed a lot when me and my wife go out for walks.   People for some reason tend to stereotype my clothing as being a symbol of Satanic worship.     Its not like that at all.  But i cant seem to make people understand.  I'm by no means a satanist.   So i keep to myself alot.    The three people that are my friends are all Gothic as well.

So you see, I really don't think its fair for me to Judge a person just because of the way they look, or of their decent.   I get picked on day in and day out for the way that i look (my proffered attire)  So its not fair for me to go off and pick on someone else just because of the way they look, whether its their skin or their attire.

"Its not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you"

Wow, i did NOT mean to go on a rant like that.        ....Sorry if i sounded preachy or offended anyone else.    I'ma shut up now and go back to my corner lol.

To give you an idea, this is my wedding day, i got married in my trench coat, thats my dad standing beside me.  No he's not short, im just too tall.  (6 foot 5 inches)

must be an artist. When I was married I had an all black suit an ascot and a mohawk. I made some 9mm cuff links and gave my groomsmen samurai swords.

It's too bad how some people will treat you based on appearance. In college I had dread locks and I was hit up for weed almost every day (I don't and didn't smoke) At one point I was looking for a part time job and a friend of mine knew of an opening at her work, so she asked if dreads were ok and they said only on black people. WTF???????? Most people were cool though.

I know the Adobe Suite pretty well, if you have any questions I may be able to help. And psdtuts.com is a decent place for photoshop tutorials.

Thanks Chilebean, i will definately check that website out.  And more than likely i will be asking you a LOT of questions.   That sucks that they hit you up for drugs.   When i was driving my old Cadillac around (my grandmothers) i was 18, and i pulled into a gas station for gas, this guy a little older than me stopped at the opossite pump and started whispering to me "hey man, hey, yo', you got some?".   I replied "huh?" cuz i had no idea what he was talking about, assumed he was asking if i had gotten a girl "in that way" with the wheels that i was rolling on (for crying out loud it was a land yacht!)

So i just said "nah man." and left it at that.   Days later i figured out that he was asking me if i had any type of drugs on me to sell.   To this day im glad -even in my stupidity of the matter- that i answered "no".

I hate drugs, i cant stand them or the effects they have on people.   I was once held at gunpoint and forced to do a drug run for someone just because i was asked to help jump a car off accross town.    I was against drugs before that episode, and forever was afterwords.

Sorry for everyone that feels this topic has strayed WAY off in left field, its just that the build is at a stand still, but i enjoy talking to people, so i cant stay quiet.

Ok, after much discussion with my wife, we have decided to do both the 1/6 scale model as well as the full version.  (the full version only a tad shorter for driveability reasons)

So i discussed it with my boss and he is letting me order 2'x3' foam board thru the company because its cheaper for me to do it this way.

15 sheets for $38.25.    I plan on doing just like Tim and slice a model into sections for exact measurements.

Will update as soon as i begin.   Thanks for all the patience with this project guys, means alot to me.

Oh yeah, and this picture is a vector image i am working on in my spare time, i plan on making it see thru with all the interior peices JUST like the movie car.   I hope i can donate it as a Vector file to CLTC, and get Doo Hee to set it up somewhere for download, that way any newcomers to the website that are curious as to where things are located, or look like mounted under the body, they will have a high quality visual aid for such things.....

...but do take that with a mountain of salt considering all i have ever seen in person are the Six Flag cars.  -_-

Ok after much thought, i have made the choice to follow Tim's lead and cut up my newly aquired Batmobile model for cross section refference.   This way i am capable of making a fully accurate model no matter what size i decide to do.

For those of you who dont know what im talking about this is what i am talking about.  (Tim I hope you dont mind me using your picture)

...to create this...

I believe this is going to be as full-proof as i can make it.  The right is difinate to match the left (given i will have computer assistance this time)   AND i can use this same technique to build the full size version later on.    And yes, i will share my information i have to anyone who wants it, so they too can build their own.

Hey MT35, here's one crazy suggestion. Before you cut the model into a lot of pieces Why don't you make a mold of it then pour a new model that is solid then do your perpendicular cuts and then the plastic body panel will not distort when you take measurements off of it.

Even taking your model and running perpendicular vinyl pinstriping on it then taking the measurements and doubling or tripling the size so when you make the mock-up model you will always have your original uncut reference model. Taking measurements off a cut up model may be harder when you are trying to measure say the side mechanic area or the distance from the canopy to the nose. But hey that's just me...

When you are cutting the ribs you might as well make two copies just in case the original gets damaged.....BWD
