Hey Conrad sorry to hear about the kid problem, Rick is going through the same crap. I give you stepdads a lot of credit. His stepson is so bad he has to lock up all his tools. Then he had a halfway house move in next to his home with teenage sex offenders......

I think these builds offer a lot of therapy especially when we are not doing them as a way of making a living. Its a total hobbie. I enjoy just sanding back and forth trying to get the flatest panel.

When you are welding or grinding or just figuring out a complex item on your build your not thinking about family or work problems. It has to be a narrow focus. Like meditation.....

My new standard answer when people ask me why I'm doing what I'm doing is that" I don't watch TV.....well Discovery....hehehe....BWD

stand firm, with a smile on his face and accept it as part of your life. And for heaven's sake do not give up your great work. Even superheroes have problems in life than to face a future even better.

I will support you from Argentina

Greetings

ok so i did my brakes but every time i want to post my pictures i keep forgetting them at the home computer. I have some pictures at work and home so i need to gather them up to tell my little brake story. I think they're working...the front ones are definitely working but not completed. the rear drums worked when there were no wheels and the axle was on jack stands, but with all the cabling hooked up...it's quite hard to engage the brakes. before i had the brake pedal installed i was trying to pull the ables with my hands and wasn't having much luck. in fact when i hooked the brake cable to the pedal and asked my stepson (the nice one) to push me, I slammed on the brake pedal and the bolt i modified to attach a (thin) brake cable snapped. Lesson learned: I need to use a thicker cable from the pedal to the first point of attachment (a set of screws and a bracket), and get another bolt that wont break. It actually broke because the hole i drilled into a bolt was off center and wasn't completely closed. this all probably makes no sense so When i get home, I'll post the pictures...

I'm new to the board, and I'm reading through all these build logs. Page after page of amazing stuff; then I reach the end (catchup to the current date) and I want to keep reading the next 10 pages to see how it turns out.

This build looks amazing- I guess I'm just going to have to wait like everyone else to see the end.

The logs are also encouraging, because these builds take a long time and seeing them unfold over a couple of years makes me feel better about my attempt.

Yeah Monta....tell me about it. I didn't think things would take this long. Especially for an almost half scale model. I guess when you have a 9-5 and are in the technology business for a growing bank, there's not a lot of time.

Anyways....Welcome to the board!! Lots of great builders, lots of great ideas.

Enjoy!!!!

Right Back at you Conrad...

6 days off mean you'll be in trouble with the family on day 3...  Well that's how it works at my house.  3 days in the shop and the family acts like I've been depoyed for months...

Good luck to you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
