I realized the stuff i got yesterday from dune buggy.com I could've fabbed myself, but what the hey...about 50 bucks got me a new steering shaft, mount for the rack and pinion, a uJoint for the R&P, and another mount for the shaft. here's the R&P mount being sized up on a piece of square tubing that will be cut and fitted to the frame
Cut and Welded (probably didn't need to do both sides but I always try to take a chapter from BWD book of Super Fabrication...overbuild, re-rienforce)

...does it come in black?

Here it is mounted on the frame
the bottom weld is pretty nasty looking, but she'll hold fine.

Got My seat today
OK before I go the the HW store and back to work, I'm a bit torn as to what steering i should use. The Golf cart one is cool but it's a little big. I like the 3 spoke wheel and love the butterfly wheel...but both are small. Even so, the grip on the butterfly wheel feels great. I might do that one. Any thoughts?

Me personally, i like the one on the far left, but again thats just me. Conrad, your work is truly amazing! I have a feeling your gonna be next to finish your go-cart Tumbler, then you and T-man will be cruisin in the worlds first set of cart-tumblers Hey could you do me a favor and give me some measurements off that new axle for your ride? All i need is the distance from one side of the axle to the other, and the size of the case at its largest point. Thanks so much!

I like the one Shaggy likes because thats the one I have right now. But I do like the butterfly. Great choice! It kind of gives that feel or look like the real thing. The one in this pic kind of reminds me of the year 1981, the Honda Odyssey off road buggy.

I thought I would share this with you. The odyssey was made in 1976 to 1984. Here are some pics on the steering wheel.

Those are sweet! I wonder how hard it is to find that steering wheel?
