Hey Shaggy! That is THE same car that my kids and I were tearing apart! I wish I could take credit for the build, but I am not that talented. Long story short, the project was far beyond my skill, so my friend Anthony took the reigns of the build. He is allowing me to pull molds from it to build a one-off fiberglass replica! He is a fantastic car builder...amazing craftsmanship! He said it should be ready to glass in about four weeks, can't wait!! Seeing this car come together has been a life-long dream of mine, and I cannot thank him enough for making it a reality. I would not be able to build one for myself without his extraordinary skill. -Matt Here's a link to the build...enjoy! http://www.theautolog.com/viewmorephotos.php?mem=deathcar77&veh=8573&inf=1969%20Lincoln%20Mark%20III%20Replica%20Build%20of%20THE%20CAR

What the heck!!! Where have I been? That is fricken awesome. I rememeber seeing the movie when it came out in theaters and immediately thinking the car was Badass. This is going to be a great build and I love the use of sheet steel. Now is that like 16 guage steel?.Looks great....BWD

I saw it when I was 8, still love it. The build is incredible...I believe Anthony used 18 gauge steel, cars literally a tank! Should weigh nearly 8,000 pounds when finished....mine will have fiberglass quarters and whatnot-a lot lighter, and drivable! -Matt

8,000 lbs? Wow. Yeah the use of lighter materials and lowering that weight would dramatically improve the handling and braking. What was the weight of the original donor if you don't mind me asking? Was that the original donor for the movie car? That will be such a great daily driver.BWD
