Finally got my donor car today. 1996 Chevy Caprice Sedan LS 5.7L V8 SFI 260HP, disk brake in front and drum in rear. Will post pictures tomorrow, it's damn cold up here in Minnesota already and unable to take pictures. I have trouble opening the hood; sometimes the hood latch won't unlatch when pulled on the hood lever. It looks like I won't be able to tear into the car until Spring 6 months from now (garage is not heated)

Change my mind on chopping up that nice golden caprice. Pick this nice blue caprice from a sheriff office for a mere $400. I will part tblue caprice out and make repair to the golden caprice (repaint her black later). Now, I don't feel bad about chopping up a $400 car.

Yep, gotta get cutting but this is not a horse race. If I can cut as fast as Tom and build as fast as Rusty, I made finish the build before retirement. I guess I'm pretty sssssssssssssssssssslooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Did i mentioned this "build" sucks, so far?

Jack (10/24/2006) Who are you getting your kit from? When are you geting your kit?I have a few people on the board in mind; I have not made a final decision on who yet. Looking to see if the price is right, quality of kit, etc. It will be a while until I'm ready for a kit. My first goal is to cut up the car and use that to fix up my other caprice, extend the frame, work on the engine, lengthen drive shaft or move the engine, blast the frame and powder coat it or paint por 15 on it. It is also almost winter up here in Minnesota and I don't have a heated garage. Cutting won't be done until probably early or late Spring (long Winter in Minnesota). Once are that is done, then I will get the kit . I didn't want to get the kit yet for my garage space is limited (wife van and other junk (the kit will only be in the way sitting in the garage). Need space to work on the caprice. Also, City Ordinance won't allow any unrunnable car park for a significant of time in the driveway. Neighbor will complain about it (I guess it will hurt there eyes or something).
