With a maximum print area of 16' x 20" I would think it would be hard to print a full pattern on an entire suit.

hhahaah. You guys are nuts. This machine has a max imprintable area of 16" x 50". So I could do it in STRIPS. Actually, if the various parts of the costume are already cut out (legs pieces, arm pieces, etc) they could be printed individually. BUT I am getting the bigger machine as soon as it comes out sometime in the next few months... Maybe right after Christmas. It is the WIDE FORMAT version of this.
I doubt anybody else has THIS machine or anything close - this was just released in February and I was one of the FIRST people in the country to get it in my shop. But there are lots of wide format cloth printers on the market - they just can't do all the other things I have been playing with.
This is an older shot of the machine - this was the prototype.
The appearance changed slightly, but not much. The print engine is based on the Epson 4800 printer (yes Tim, it sprays the ink). The Epson 4800 print heads are 1" thick, with twice as many nozzles as the 2200, allowing for a generous picoliter drop size to be layed down on the substrate being printed. I use special inks which are INREDIBLY expensive (around $1,300 for a set) and the printer is amazing.
