Okay here is the proof that RUSTY is correct that it's just a deep slot.

What you have here is the front clip from the original car.  You know it's from Batman because you can see where the squibs were for the gun shots(arrows). Look at the back (enlarged), the slot does NOT go all the way through.

Rusty was right!!!

Several years ago Paul "Batgod" told me that the car canopy rolled on the "three bar method". So I figured there were three bars that the canopy rode on so I built my car this way.

From what I am seeing the hood is cut a good 5" through, so the canopy doesn't roll on top but underneath as my car does.

Yeah the replicas do use the 3 bar set-up.  But you can see that the REAL car does not, right?  Right?

Way to go Rusty, I have no idea how you keep figuring this stuff out but I'm starting to think that there is more to you then meets the eye.  I mean I thought that you were nuts with the roll on the hood idea for your car (although it would be great for Darren since he has very little under the hood room).

Add another point to Sir Rusty.

You have got to be kidding, right?  The whole flange is 5" so the slot is probably 2" deep at most.  So if it doesn't rool on the hood WHAT does it roll on?
