I'm not sure I've seen a topic on this but I was wondering what peoples ideas were on putting wiper blades on the 89. I've seen the two versions - the vertical blade on the onstar cars and the 'regular' windshield wipers on the california car (I'm not versed enough to be able to identify all the various cars yet forgive me if these aren't correct ).
I certainly like the look of the vertical blades much better but was wondering:
1. what mechanics are they using
2. How are they getting power to the motor under the canopy without messing up the hatch slide (some kind of retractable cord?)
3. Are people even planning on putting wiper blades on their cars?
4. Ups and downs? Other thoughts?

I'm in Oregon so its raining all throught the fall and winter and into spring. I don't think I could go that long without driving the car

The onstar cars don't have motors attached to the wipers. I believe the run on hand power.

I don't have a batmobile, but I have a remote R2-D2

Dude... they are just prop wipers. a simple track made of aluminum rod with a wiper hanging from them. I'm not even sure if they move by "hand power" to tell you the truth.

If you're not going to make them functional... you might as well leave them off. Just another obstruction in a very limited visibility car.

Any thoughts on functional ones? I'd especially love to hear thoughts on vertical functional ones. Is anyone planning on adding wipers to their car?

I'd have to get my car 1st and then think of whats goin on it but I know there are aircraft out there with similar set-up but I can't remember where I saw it. I'm sure if i looked through some of my aircraft electronics books i'd come across it.
