The model is ok, but the drawing is just that much better. The windshield is swept back more, etc. It just looks overall more sleeker.

I like it...but at this point think the wings are just a bit too ridiculous. I think that in the beginning it needs to have a significantly more military appearance to it, with very slight modifications to artistic/civilian details.

"but at this point think the wings are just a bit too ridiculous"
Now wait just a minute here, that's going too far! :laugh
Is it the drawing or the model hmmm?????
Jack's right, the original script had a pull out shot of the "improved" Tumbler being worked on by Bruce. How do I know? Easy, Mattel wanted a cooler Batmobile that they could release as a toy and diecast so that scene was added to the script. Something that looked more Batmobile than the military Batmobile was management's thinking. WB was ok with the addition but Nolan wanted no part of it. Surprisingly we didn't do anything different than what Hasbro did with Batman Forever. I don't care what anyone lays credit to but the toy guys at Hasbro designed the Forever car, Flattery just did the sketching. Man I sound like a bitter old designer...

Dave is that what the tumbler was suppose to transform into? I always thought that car was going to morph into something in the film but it never happened.

The Tumbler towards the end of the film was supposed to get banged up a lot more than it did. Then, in the last scene it's no longer just a Tumbler but has extra wings (stylized to look like bat wings) and other do-dads. This was a push from Mattel so they could come out with a cooler looking toy after they released the first one.
I think Nolan told them this movie wasn't being made to sell toys.
The drawing above was based on the script info and a rough storyboard image.
