You would have to trim a little off the front and back center of the car.

It's probably going to depend on your body. I don't know how much variation there is among the different molds out there but if the body has a true 141" wheel base and the chassis has 142" then you're going to have to fudge 1/2" in both the front and the rear. Not sure how noticeable that would be.
What other options are there, besides chopping the frame, to adjust the wheelbase an inch or so? ...and are would they be better?

I'm not a car expert by any means, but the '89s I've seen as well as all of the Hot Rods and other customs I'm familiar with have always started with a set of frame rails. (You should probably start a new thread for this.)
