"what does a propane tank handle look like"
i don't have a photo, but go out to your grill and look at the on/off valve on your propane tank. the one on my tank looks JUST LIKE the one on the actual 89 side mechanics.

Awesome looking side details Mark!
I think that Mr. Wright would probably like the mech a little better if he saw them mounted on the car.
MT has them laying flat on the floor at the time the pics were taken, shown out of context, they look a little "wonky" but you have to have a little foresight to imagine what they'll look like completed.

I did some research and there are two mandated tpes of propane tank (OPD valve)handles. (Go government). The first has three points to it and the old style has 5. both have screws in the middle though that hold them on - so they wouldn't work for the side mechanics.
I'm not saying there isn;t another type that's more accurate; just that the majority won;t work.

sorry for the terrible photo. i snapped our hi-lo's propane tank here at work. it's not perfect, but i think it's a better solution that a bath faucet handle.
no offense Mark. You know I'm a fan.
I've seen closer looking handles than the one I'm posting. We just turned in our old tank for this one, so maybe on the next tank we'll have something closer. i think you guys get the point.
cheers.
I don't have a good camera here. this is the best photo I could get, sorry.

This is what I want from this forum.
What matches the 89.
