I wonder how they produced the satin black with highlight paint job.

Batmobilehistory.com says that it was only black and the paint job was highlighted with colored lights. I dont really get that from THESE pictures though. Does anyone know?

The movie cars were a matt black. Any other colors are from lighting or are show cars. Movie cars are rarely gloss for many reasons, lighting, and reflection are just two reasons. They did add a little gloss when they were cleaned simply from buffing the matt finish. I have no fact to back up this next comment, but I have heard that they were actually buffed from a flat finish to get the matt/semi gloss finish.

Bwayne I have articals that say beatle ,some say mat black ,some say tons of clear pearl. One thing does not add up if they didnt paint this car with a blue tint then why would you paint the remote model with blue tint? The guys from Toynami building the 1/8 said a ton of original car pics they got from WB were in fact blue tint but I think this was after they tried to film it being flat black and it was just washed out on film. Again just a guess but I think our car was once midnight dark blue.
