What the HELL is wrong with you people? Why does NO-ONE on this board seem even remotely normal? You are talking about building a REPLICA of a FICTIOUS CAR that was used in a MOVIE about 16( that is SIXTEEN) years ago. No offense, but everyone asking for pics of the cars, and the shops isn't really asking for all that much. Especially if the end price tag of a fake car ends up being in the $86K range...then yeah, I think you should be advertising your work, exactly what you do, WHY yours is better, etc. For that much cash, I should really know why your particular car is better. Seems like everyone says, "put up or shut up" but then NOBODY puts up. I'm sure if you built one of these cars, you took some pictures of it along the way, and there is really very little chance of anyone figuring out just who built what from a PICTURE of the car.
Maybe i'll finally get banned for this one, but really, what is up with you guys? Isn't the free sharing of information one of the GOOD parts of the internet? I'm attempting to build a tumbler and am getting basically stonewalled at every attempt to get information. While at the same time, I KNOW there are plenty of other guys out there building em, and are much farther along than me....considering i'm not far at all.
Oh yeah, and I realize 66 cars would be much older, and blah blah blah about kilmer and cloony cars, but ya know what? They are ugly to me, and I don't care about those cars. I want to build a car. Its not my life, just a project for the garage in the spare time. I NEED help. I NEED information, and I can't get it because of trite DUMB shit like this. SO could you PLEASE, for the love of god, ACT LIKE NORMAL, rational, human beings?
p.s. please stop whining about trolls. You are starting to sound worse than my girlfriend whining about a chipped finger nail.

  As per your request.....YOU"RE BANNED!!!!
Just kidding. The only people that I have heard of building a Tumbler is Bob D at http://www.dullam-causey.com/, Kevin's friend, and Trix http://www.rodsandracers.com/trix_batmobile.html.
We don't have blueprints(wish we did). In some of the old threads you can find the tire sizes and manufacturer but that's about it. Bob D said he is eyeballing it (He has a great eye for that kind of stuff just check out his website).
So if you want to build one, JUST DO IT. Oh, and keep use posted.

W.B. had this car built from scratch just to keep guys like us from building the car. You must realize that this new car carries a patent for at least 15 years and possibly 20 years. Also copyrights to the image. If you are building the car just for your amusement then there is nothing WB can do about it. But the minuet you start trying to make any money with it you can kiss your car goodbye.
My buddy built his and WB still came knocking at his door.

NORMAL!!!!!
Who said I was normal????!!!!
I'm not even CLOSE to normal!
Do I look NORMAL to you?

We don't do this because we're NORMAL...
We drive Batmobiles because we're NOT normal.
And YES. Posting pics of your Batmobile chassis without the shell is beyond damaging. Look at how much the screen shots are analyzed.
Posting "In progress" pics is pretty much the same thing as handing over blueprints or instruction manuals. I used to do this on my website and I got tons of emails from people following my "directions" who needed paint codes and vendor information.
NO ONE GAVE THEM TO ME!!! Cost me time, money (Girls for Jay at Star Strip aren't cheap you know.) and research to get this info. Jay and (Now Silent) Bob actually freaked out on me for giving away info on the site.
A pic here and there is OK, but detailed pics show EXACTLY how canopy tracks work, hoods open and close, frame specs and even engine placement and suspension set up.
The only detail pics I ever posted publicly are from one of my friends who got a body from me and put his driver on eBay for fun. He had already posted the pics, so damage done.
Remember these?

Hell... I gave my Partridge Bat pics to DH to start up the site and Tim printed one out and used it for a mold template for Christ's sake! (Don't sweat it Tim, I was quite flattered)
So, while I'm not a big advocate of posting detail pics, I AM a fan of posting a few pics of your car here and there. And a HUGE supporter of having people actually see pics of your cars (But asking them NOT to post them. (You guys know who you are and I thank you.) AND!!! of having people to your shop to see what you do, how you do it and what else you're up to.)

Kevin, I always thought you had tall hair and a mustache! Your avatar is so small and squished (I thought you were thinner also )

Paul, I actually was using your picture as a reference pic for the body since it was one of the only non-black pictures I could find. I was always a fan of the car, but didn't really know every nook and crevice of the body like I do now until I started the GC. It will also be a good reference for mold seperation lines as well and I do plan to part mine in a very similar way. It definately is one of my favorite '89 pics. Thanks!

That was all done free hand, if you couldn't tell.
