Bid on Over 70 Original Star Wars Artifacts From the Archive of Star Wars Producer, Gary Kurtz
Auction Highlights Include Screen-Used Luke Skywalker Jedi Light Saber and Darth Vader Hero Light Saber
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., July 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Profiles in History's LIVE auction will include some of Hollywood's most prized artifacts. Collectors from around the world will bid on vintage and contemporary Hollywood artifacts from film and television including props, costumes, costume designs, production art, photographs and more.
The Beverly Hills auction house will auction treasures from the archive of filmmaker Gary Kurtz. Kurtz was the producer of Star Wars and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Working closely with George Lucas from 1973-1981 as vice president of Lucasfilm, Kurtz was instrumental in developing the Star Wars trilogy and bringing the first two blockbuster films to the silver screen. Throughout his lengthy career, he has amassed a huge personal archive of film memorabilia. To help fund the restoration and conservation of artifacts in the Kurtz Archive, the sale of his Star Wars related pieces in this auction will ensure that many more pieces in the Archive can be preserved for future generations.

269. Miniature Batmobile from the first Batman film. (Warner Bros., 1989) This exceptional, highly-detailed miniature is painted in a deep, dark purple color scheme which appears black on-screen, as flat black paint did not show up well on camera. This is one of only three medium-scale miniatures of the Batmobile made for the production, and this example features a "solid" non-moving drivers' seat canopy/hood. It was made to serve as a production piece to assist the effects crew in staging the overhead and static shots for the Batmobile, and may also have been used for staging the cocoon sequence. One of the finest movie vehicle miniatures to ever surface on the open market, and what many fans consider the best rendition of the Batmobile! Measures 29 in. long. $12,000 - $15,000

So thats the color of the real film used cars then? I think Dave nailed it with the 1:64 1/15,000 I think the first ones to hit the shelf over 2 years ago.
