A long while back someone asked about adding weatherstrip. Well this is what I can up with and so far it seems to be woring great. Here is what I am working on for the trunk. I also did the canopy area the same way.

Step 1: I roughed up the existing fiberglass and made a mark where I wanted to add the flange. I add a 1" strip of blue installation foam board (Just like what Tim is using on his go-cart((Thanks Tim))). I used double sided padded carpet tape to hole the 1" foam in place. NOTE: I covered the foam in clear packing tape so that it would release from the fiberglass.

Step 2: I used The West System Epoxy fiberglass resin and 3 layers of fiberglass cloth. NOTE: I covered the foam in clear packing tape so that it would release from the fiberglass.

Step 3: I found that it is very easy to trim the fiberglass just before the resin cures. (Still need to do the Bondo work)

Step 4: I found this great weatherstrip at JC Whitney.com . It comes in a 25-foot roll and cost right around $50. Catalog number 143539.

Step 5: Install the weatherstrip. It goes on with just a push and gives a nice finished look.

Well that's how I'm doing it. Hope it helps.

We'd like to see some pics though, Nitro.

Nitro... you folks had a very odd sense of humor when they named you.
