Yep. That's what I did. My rear brake calliper had two inputs for brakes hoses. Something to do with ABS. So I connected a other handle bar brake lever up to it. So I had foot brake to rear and hand brake to both front and rear. Also had regen braking connected to switch for the brake lights on the brake levers.

What batteries are you planning on using?

Brakes -> Cool!

I haven't figured out what my battery pack is going to look like yet. If you have suggestions on modules/kits/charge ports etc that you would recommend from your experience that would be great!

I used headway 10amp cells in my first build. They're 3C rated so 30amps can be safely pulled from 1 cell without catching fire. I had two cells in parallel so 60amps could be pulled and 24 in series giving approx 86v. That's not a lot of amps for hard acceleration.

This new build I have headway 8amp cells. These cells are rated 10c. So a 2P24S pack gives approx. 86V and can pull 160amps. Much better. I have purchased 80 cells as I might make a bigger pack of 3P24S or 86v with 240amps. Then you need the BMS to manage the cells.

Nice! Thanks for the details. I'll take a look into those cells.
