Hello everyone. I am new here. I recently posted a witty and fun explanation of what I am doing here. I’ll keep it short this time just in case it doesn’t work again. I recently saw a Facebook marketplace ad with a fiberglass 89 body. I had some money saved for another car that I was looking at but after seeing this it made me think of the possibility of potentially owning one of my dream cars since I was nine years old. I have a cousin that owns a restoration/custom car shop so he has been on alert. I’m actually meeting with him later on this evening but I have no clue where to start with a conversation. I’d like to enclose some photos of the fiberglass body to get some opinion. I’ve heard that you have to be very careful of where you purchased and what to look for. I am just now starting to do a lot of research so I’m definitely new it all of this. So far I’ve join some Facebook groups, followed some other builders, and looked at a lot of YouTube videos. I will definitely need some help in guidance as to where to purchase certain details like cockpit, gun covers, front turbine, etc. I’m going to enclose three photos and I’d like to see what everyone thinks and maybe someone can point me in the right direction on where to start a conversation with my cousin. Thanks so much everyone!

Hey MarkyJ80,
Welcome to the forum.
Finding a good body is an excellent jump off point.
Read through all the posts here relevant to your build.
I believe there are several that address what characteristics to look for in a body, and most everything else related to this build.
Since you already have the body, you can use these posts to assess your body.
Also, figure out your build space situation.
After that, you should start looking for your donor vehicle. vertigo

Hello and thank you! I actually don’t have the body yet. There’s a guy about 2 1/2 hours from me selling his(attached photos). I guess I should drive up and check it out but in the meantime, I did reach out to Gotham cruisers. After reading a lot of the posts and topics here, I decided to check them out. I feel like since they are very comparable in price, it could be a wise decision to go with them although the wait time could be a while longer.

Thank you!! I actually called him today based on what I’ve read here. I was surprised to see that his price is very comparable. He also does a little above and beyond what I was expecting and offer some other parts as well. We’ll see what happens! Going down this rabbit hole….bat cave I meant.
