A few months ago, I was debating if I should DIY the frame stretch, now I can weld but i have the bare minimum experience with that, and definitely DO NOT feel comfortable taking on the frame. So I have been in the garage, practicing my cutting, welding, and etc on random scraps (just in case my balls drop haha). I have received an offer from a hot rod shop that does these kinds of jobs all the time, and I accepted it, but they were a few months out from taking on the job. In the mean time, I thought I would keep learning, and researching methods on how to do it, basically got to the point where one of these guys was just like.....dude dont over think it. You measure, you cut, you measure again, install, measure again, weld, and measure haha.

Anyhow, I thought I would share some of the links to the fab shops that do this type of work on youtube.

I must say I like the "Boxing the frame" method over using the plates, it seems like a lot cleaner of a look for those that plan to go the "full legal" route where the state inspectors will have to inspect your work.

Good content here! there are a lot of helpful welding videos on the youtube channel Weldingtipsandtricks.

Jodi has a lot of experience and goes through and into detail on the various welding techniques and practices. I'm a welder.fabricator by trade, and i would definitely recommend his channel
