Nice! I picked up one about a week ago (after weeks or searching). It was used but still in great shape.

Hey Brian,
yes this one is used too. It actually looks better than how it appears in the photo. But its a good "worn in"...kind of like a well worn leather jacket. I asked the person I bought it from if there was any known history, what it came off of etc., but no replies.

Mountney manufactured a lot of steering wheels, steering wheel bosses and car accessories in different designs. They were intended to be used for mainly 'classic' car restorations/replacements. They are still in business today.

Well, while I'm picking my nose waiting around for the front tires to arrive, I figured I would poke around at something else. This "turbine" for starters which had the blades screwed to the cone....

I put a bearing on both sides of the center blade assembly ...

This is just mocked up but it spins freely now. Using the old front stab bar end link sleeve which I will cut down to size and get a shorter bolt.

Will eventually use one of the donor car door window motors and hook it up to turn it via switch in the cockpit...

peeling the donor car steering wheel......

I'll cut out the center, and re-use the donor car steering wheel hoop to be the exit end of the burner can. Will re-use the center spline and make a steering wheel hub for the mountney.

Appreciate the info Mr A.
I found a burner can diagram some where on here that showed the front diameter at 21.42" and the rear at 13.88"
