Hi all! I'm new here and thought I might contribute to some information I found on the '89.
Mods, if I put this in the wrong section please move.
I have been researching The Car for a long time and with a bit of effort and many late nights I have come up with the following. Some info I'm sure has been seen before the rest might be new.
This is still a work in progress so some parts still need to be nailed down but I will find them.
With thanks to the uploaders of pics I may use to illustrate the parts.

So in at number 1 we have...
This is the pilot controls for the HUD on a SEPECAT Jaguar GR1 from the 1970s
Made by Smith Industries for the Royal Air Force, Part Number 01CUF/2
It can be seen in situ at the top of the picture here.

This one is pretty obvious as it tells us what it is right on it.
An AUW (all-up weight) Presetter Mk 4 for the Mark 44 air-launched torpedo.
It probably came from a RAF Nimrod MR1 more likely MR2.
For reference an AUW Mk1 and an unfortunately poor quality image of a Mk 4.

I think that those that are in-the-know, know what every panel came from, though I do find it interesting that some members seem to think it should be kept a secret from the newer crop. The point of this forum is to assist all builders and enthusiasts. So, thanks for posting this for those who didn't know...
The bigger issue, if actually finding these parts, even if you know what they are. Many of parts that were scavenged from aircraft were in a decommissioned state 30 plus years ago, and today, long gone. Sure a couple parts pop up here or there, but most of the time one must become creative.
While "screen accurate" is a nice goal, I have to be honest, not really impressed with the original workmanship on the screen dash. For arguments sake, all they did was take the (thin) top panels from avionic panels and screw them to the dash and doll them up a bit. Now don't get me wrong, the dash looks awesome, just not up to my (aviation) standards.
For me (an aviator) it's more about being a little more aviation correct, so I make my own panels that are more reminiscent of a proper dzus'd into an avionic rack type panel with proper military switches, lights, and rotary encoders and terminology. All my street legal required systems are switched though these panels as well as having an added fire T-handle, just in case there is ever an issue requiring extinguishment. How many of you have a fire extinguishing system on board? Betcha didn't think about that, nor an emergency release mechanism for your canopy...
Besides adding some more relevant aviation terms and acronyms on my panels, I also cleaned up my panel dimensions so that they are correctly spaced around the borders relative to each other, as well as creating some specialized panels for my on board gadgets... They sky's the limit if you are up for an awesome build.
Attached is the render for a couple roughly 1/4" thick top plates with cutouts for the dzus screws (not present).

Hello Zeus. I apologise for presuming to tell more seasoned members information they may already know.
I looked through the archive and noted a thread "Unanswered Questions" that referenced items that were at the time unknown and found no other details notably on the radio panel with the helicopter logo or the APU panel.
While I agree that the construction of the movie car was imperfect I think it has its own value and own interest.
Thank you for taking the time to respond and if I may trouble you do you happen to know the source of the two large red buttons next to the screen on the right.
Thanks again
Alex

No need to apologize. Never hurts to post relevant info. Like Zeus said, some people know a lot but it is not always shared. Zeus has shared a lot, and he's one of the few that can actually find the real things. love your panel Zeus brother. Awesome work.

Slysnake,
Thanks for the kind words! I’m a firm believer in doing it right and sharing... haven’t been on as much as I would like with outside conflicts, though I can say there is some cool stuff coming down the pipeline for the avg enthusiast who doesn’t have laser scanners, laser cutter/engravers, CNCs and metallic laser deposition 3D printers...
BTW, did you finish the steering wheel yet?

Well the steering wheel is the least of our concerns at the moment. We're working hard to produce a body and mate it to a donor car. But yes, there is a plan for the steering wheel that will be functional. It's all laid out in my build thread and THEMAN's resource thread.
My end is a little on hold right now as I am stuck in Hawaii, but I hope THEMAN is making some progress.

The panel between the seats came from a F4 Phantom fighter aircraft throttle quadrant cover panel.
