Question to all reading with actual plans to build a working vehicle... and for those spec'ing a scaled vehicle anywhere between 80-90% of actual.

So the closest ratio street legal/usable tires with a directional pattern happen to be Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 46x19.50-20 for the rears. I am checking with them about remaking a matching 35x13.50R20 for the fronts, that was discontinued a couple years back.
On 20x10or11 fronts and 20x20 rears, this gets us very close to the real look at ~88-90% front&rear tire&wheel...
~$2000 for the full set

If I have to order multiples right out of the gate, how many folks would be in for a this option?

The other close immediately available DOT road legal option is the Interco 44x21-20 rear & 35x12.50R20 front, but their tread looks like the Arkham tire pattern. $2400 for the full set

If the custom tire route makes any headway, a number for interest would be good there too... but count on a cost for all four approaching $3000 easily... still well under the best pricing, by more than $1k, I have found on the agro tires in close to correct look/size.

MickeyThompson under Cooper Tires destroyed the mold for the possible fronts, and has no plans for replacement in the right sizing... so they are out. Darn shame, and quite silly when seeing how trends sway in the truck tire market...

Maxxis Trepador Radial M8060 could be used as front tire without looking too far off...

So now you don't need us to commit I guess. Any idea how many they would have needed to do it? Because, even if those of us here doing a car or those that have shown any interest in doing one are still pretty few in numbers.

nope... didn't matter the numbers unless it was in the 1000 order range possibly, but our niche wasn't gonna get it done. I was even going for a promo vehicle route to have at things as big as SEMA to hit the truck market with them.
I'm still trying to work that angle with some other avenues, but a US maker doesn't look in the cards right now which is disappointing...

On a tire note still...

these crosswind at only ~$200 in 35x12.50r20 go pretty well with the mickeyT rears...

And for those wanting a budget close enough wheel, black rhino arsenal 20x9.5... and have the rears widened to 20x20 for another $300ish.

this place has a good reputation for their work...

I am still looking into the custom wheels however... so that option may be within reasonable reach of the modified wheel route, and be a USA made product.

for the side mechanics and rear wings coil-over shocks, these are pretty close to the correct double adjustable type.

these may be a better option for folks to cover with a custom fit tinted plexi/poly cover.

I've got a bunch of these quick release pins on the way... had to get a certain number for a decent deal. So I will have 4 available should anyone want to contact me about a fair deal on them.

this angle should help with the round steering wheel knobs a little too...

PM sent.....

this angle should help with the round steering wheel knobs a little too...
Looks like they are one piece, knurled top, center shaft hole that goes completely through, set screw on top. sits on a base of some kind. Pretty much what I could see from other pictures. It just seems that it shouldn't be that unusual, but it is.

hey THE MAN and Sly,
Spent a couple of hours studying and measuring the Thrust and photo images of the movie correct steering wheels.
Currently planning to machine the center piece as one unit. Maybe stainless steel instead of aluminum.
What is the outside diameter of the center hub (Rizome motorcycle clutch cover)? I calculate 3-inches.
Face diameter. I calculate 2.5-inches.
Inside diameter. I calculate 1.5-inches.
Ring thickness. I calculate 1/2-5/8 thick.
What size hex wrench fits the middle part hexigon. I calculate 3/8"
What is the Hub color? Black

Has either of you acquired the Rizome motorcycle clutch cover or center piece?
If so would either of you mind measuring and sharing the above dimensions? vertigo

hey THE MAN and Sly,
Spent a couple of hours studying and measuring the Thrust and photo images of the movie correct steering wheels.
Currently plan to machine knurled knobs from 3/4" aluminum bar.
The base of the knurled knob you see on the movie correct steering wheel is the raised base of the switches on the plastic Thrust steering wheel and measures .660" in diameter.
I calculate the taper and knurled portions of the switch to measure .500-.750" in length.
I calculate the knurled portion as .375" (3/8') in diameter and 3/16" in length.
Do you agree or do you have different measurements? vertigo
