Your planning is very advanced. What are you thinking for the body, metal, fiberglass, something else? My fiberglass body will be 88:100. Once I pull my body I might be willing to loan you the molds if your interested.

I'm having some trouble visualizing how the c5 will work as a donor. Isn't that a unibody construction? A Gen 3 Viper might work as they are based on a steel frame construction. But even a junk Viper would be cost prohibitive.

Nope hydroformed steel frame and passenger compartment together, with the body panels all fastened to it...
I see this chassis shape easily modified towards this...
look at how well even the doubled gas tanks are integrated into the frame body just aft of the seats...

sly - I have enough sheet metal from two other donor cars to fabricate the body shell(one is a suburban) and I even have a rough pattern for the two wings worked out of an aluminum RX7 hood I have... but I was following your body build in hopes of finding someone doing just that for possibly using a body kit on it to save build time... at 88% it may be a tad big for me though, as from the data you've shared it would push it to about 9' wide correct?
I have talked with another guy doing a 3d print to mold process and a 75% scale finished shell was coming in at $20k... that's quite a lot, but once my rolling chassis is together hopefully everyone's developments are coming to a more final product and I can decide which way to go will work best.

BvS speaks to me a bit more, and I'm really stuck on being able to give the kids and friends rides in it with me.

as from the data you've shared it would push it to about 9' wide correct? Yes, you are right on with the width. I was shooting for 8'6" but it has worked out to be 9'. I live in a farm state and there are a lot of vehicles on the roads wider than that. I think for short trips I will be fine and for longer trips it will be able to be trailered on a farm equipment trailer. Now it I take it into Chicago it might be a concern. The other option is to shave 3" off both jet air intakes (that's the widest part) which wouldn't be that hard, but would alter the look. One thing to think about with width is interior cockpit space. Even at full size the cockpit is tight.
I'm intrigued by the c5 concept. C5s are readily available and not too expensive. You will have to extend the frame forward and back I assume. And the space for the engine in the rear is not a completely covered area. Will you put a "fake" engine in there or some other idea?

The back end of the frame really won't need any extending... because of the trailing arm 4-link design, it extends the wheelbase out another 4'. Giving me the correct wheelbase for the 8'x16' vehicle dimensions.
The cockpit remains the very snug corvette sizing and I should be able to keep the ratios very decent.
With the rear mount twin turbo setup and all the running gear cooling equipment I have laid out back there for the primary design, that rear engine space will be very occupied.
The c5 way of this may work out even easier for your size build for cockpit to vehicle ratio.

I was planning on a scratch build but this idea would save a lot of time, effort, and money in the long run.
Do you have any more information on the trailing arm 4-link that you would be willing to share.

Slysnake, THEMAN,
If you are interested in C5/C6 suspension, but don't want to shell out for an entire C5/C6, take a look at Dobbertin Performance Innovations in Pennellville, NY. They offer both front and rear suspension adapters that bolt to 2x4 square tube frame, as well as several different width K-frames to allow for a multitude if track widths. Also, check out their rear engine setup - pretty clean - and significantly simplified overall build effort....
