hey THEMAN
Did you happen to measure the wheel base?
Have you looked at any of the scale models?
If so any observations or critiques accuracy/errors etc.

Brilliant work on the lights and seat. Looks like the light housing will need to be fabricated then..... and upholstery on the seat should be fairly easy.

I only took rough measurements, but wheelbase hub to hub is about 15'...

I think the main take away I have through this project so far is that the vehicle built to original size is useless other than a static prop. It costs $50k just to transport the thing from Burbank to Vegas with special hauler and wide load permits due to it being two feet wider than a standard Semi rig. Scaling down to 8' wide or less (70-80% max percentage of actual) still makes for an awesome presence while keeping costs reasonable for us mortal income makers.
The cost of building a regular trophy truck chassis without any running gear can easily hit $50k as well, and this thing is more than double the robustness/weight and 30% larger than any of those trucks.

The 1/10 RC JL car has been a good help so far, and it has the benefit of raising and lowering too.

Chassis stuff...I'm sure you guys have seen the making of footage, but figured I'd post some of those stills here to refresh on some things.
this is a trophy truck chassis first off.

The bat's is built very similar, but bigger...

Keep in mind each rear wheel/tire had over 100# of rubber shaved from it, and they still weighed over 400# to move around and manage.

Notice the amount of brakes it needs, with secondaries in the rear to help maneuver it...

And the size of the rear sway bar just to help keep the rear flat in the turns...

Chris King would probably at least be able to hook folks up with the same external reservoir and adjustable for compression&rebound shock specs... and Ride-Tech I bet could help with the air-ride portion well enough.

Drivetrain woahs... sourcing from used boat yards if going this route is a good idea, as these units cost more than a whole used LS motor drop out with wire harness and ECU. I will not be using this configuration.

Given what you know from your research what do you plan to use as a donor vehicle?
How many hours do you think you have in your research of this build? vertigo

I intend to use a c5 or c6 corvette for my base... I'm shopping both, but really leaning the hunt towards a later c6 with ls3 already in it to save build time. Salvage title doesn't matter at this point since I have my 25+ year old donor vehicle for the street rod class tags/registration.
Body panels all come off, transaxle, torque tube, and rear suspension all removed as well. I have entire trophy style trailing arm 4-link already designed out and parts sourced including the 70" wide HD 8-lug rear axle and wilwood big brake package.
The front suspension all gets removed as well, but the important part is building the new control arms off the oem pickup points and geometry but lengthening the arms 10" on each side with 2500HD drop spindles with 8-lug hubs and matched wilwood big brake kit.

The vette chassis will get substantially reinforced with dom tubing added to the hydroformed steel frame. Also why I am sticking with the base model chassis only up to the c6, because they all went aluminum like the c6z06 into c7 entire line.
A c5 would be a find start too, and they came with 4-speed autos anyway, so the ecu hookup to an HD 4l80e would be super easy, instead of having the tranny ecu changes made for the c6, or having a bit more expense in a 6L80e or 6L90e for the c6... Basically I'm prepared to go on two whole paths depending what deals on the best stuff become available. And if the build yields interest from other folks wanting a car built.

I also have an entire rear mount twin turbo setup designed and sourced as I get the build together... but I have a backup supercharger plan also set just in case the build has to alter once the car comes together.

As far as time on research, I have no idea... I've been piecing things together to formulate the best plan of attack for the results I want for over a year. A lot had to go into making it road legal to drive it to various events and just to have fun in it.

Shoot, I even have a gun turret designed for paintball guns to make things super fun for the kids.
