Went into the garage today and played with my body today. Seeing how easy the body flexes and moves I'm going have to add some type of reinforced. I've seen how the Mattmobile made body mounts to the frame, but the body is still going move. I was wondering how everyone reinforced fiberglass body. The bottom edge of body has me wondering the most. Surely everyone not driving around with straight edge of the body just hanging down.
I was thinking of maybe shaped steel rods or wood strips fiberglassed onto the inside of the body. For the bottom edge maybe fiberglass bottom with 1-2" edge. So I can put a bolt up into steel support coming from the frame.

I've been thinking about this as well.
I was thinking maybe steel rods coming from the frame similar to what you see if you look in the wheel wells of some pickup beds (I'm parked next to a f150 right now and can see one)
If you really wanted to get into it you could mount it similar to what some race car builders use:

Get some heim joints from speedway and the nuts that fit the thread get one right and left thread from speedway motors then get pipe little larger diameter than your heim joints cut some tabs glass or epoxy tabs to your body then weld the other tab to your frame across from each other then measure pipe weld nut on to both sides of pipe screw on your hyme joints now you have a custom turnbuckle that will secure your body from movement and flexing and if your body has any distortion you can slowly put pressure on area and put in sun it will take out imperfections as well. don't whale on the body by over tightening or you could do damage to the body but mine has been mounted and no flexing anywhere for years.

Overlooking some builds this weekend (+working). Got one on my answers on mounting lower edge of the body. From Rusty's build.

Looks like I better get my fiberglassing skills in check. Oh, wait I don't have any exact for doing patchwork on cars.
p.s. when you visit post above read his first post:
