hey sly,
Looking great. Amazing how far resolving and acquiring the donor can push a bat vehicle build along.
How long before you leave on your island exile?
What do you hope to accomplish while you are gone?

Too soon...….. June 6.

As far as the build is concerned.... Over the summer I will have my car in a shop where it will get a new transmission and rear end as well as the DOJ front and rear suspension, wheels and tires. Thanks to THEMAN's great planning for these upgrades.

When I get back I'll be working hard on producing the new sized body panels. I have already stocked up on a lot of the supplies that will need.

Cool!

The distance from the front of the roll bar to the center line of the wheel on the Vette is about 80 inches. Looking at the .71% reduced model, the measurement from the center line of the wheel on the batmobile to the front center extension is about 87 inches.

That puts the front of the Vette roll bar seven inches forward of where it should ideally be. Now the roll bar on the Vette does come straight up where as the roll bar on the batmobile maintains the angle all the way. If we take that into account I think you're right on with your measurements.

Seems like we're right on track with that, but my suspension design while keeping all the front travel similar to stock does push the front wheel center line forward a few inches... so taking all that into account with your numbers looks really well, and it all has a fudge factor that can be modified before final welding.

Good! That's what I was concerned about. Now you say "front travel similar to stock", But that will be extended out right? I'm milling that section of the body now and it looks like the distance of the wheel flair will be a few inches over the stock tire. We probably need the wheels out away from that enough to add the wheel cover and still not bind with the wheel flair when turning.

Right, the a arms get about a foot longer each side... So we should get plenty of articulation with fenders in place.

Car delivered to shop to begin modifications. Pretty nice shop setup. Nice, friendly owner that seems quite knowledgeable. Seems like a lot to do but maybe we can see some nice results by this fall. Hopefully there will be some pictures and progress updates to share over the summer.

Four more days until my banishment.
