Progress Report,

3-hours more on my Justice League build.

Used life size wood template to draw up and then cut out and fit a lower frame bottom panel in steel.

Will continue on the work left to do on the core frame and add on modifications. Lots of welding.

Hey Vert, sorry I haven't been able to respond to your posts lately but it looks like you are working hard and making quick progress. The side bottom you picture above, is that the bottom of the rear side box?

Was wondering where you were.

"Hey Vert, sorry I haven't been able to respond to your posts lately but it looks like you are working hard and making quick progress."

Figured I needed to put in some progress so I wouldn't be too far behind THEMAN and you.

"The side bottom you picture above, is that the bottom of the rear side box?"
NO.
The middle of the frame is straight and flat.
The side bottom piece is a change in bottom angle to the angles of the movie car bottom.
Just a trick to give me more depth in the center.

Update on my Justice League batmobile.
In summary, I am around 80% completed on the bottom and core frame modifications.

Thanks for the update Vert. Looking good.

1. What's your next step after the bottom is done?

2. Any second thoughts on building the tumbler and the DOJ at the same time?

1. What's your next step after the bottom is done?

Plan to finish the two step units and weld them into place.
Each of these units have 15 pieces in each one.

After that I will most likely continue with working on side body and cockpit areas.

2. Any second thoughts on building the tumbler and the DOJ at the same time?

No, I like them both.
Once I have both close to equal in construction completion I will split my time between them.

I received an email asking about time management as it relates to bat vehicle building.
This was discussed at length in many of my past postings. Basically I average 1-hour per day per bat vehicle.

The only thing I can add is about not wasting the minutes when you can't find an hour.
When I can't find an hour I can usually find 10-15-minutes. I have some areas I only work on during these 10-15 minute periods. I can usually sneak in enough of these collectively over a day to make my hour. Here are mine.

Grinding, sanding, drilling, filing, clamping, wood patterns/proxy parts, etc. 10-15 minutes at a time.
Adds up faster than you might think.

Cutting, fitting, or tack welding the metal parts that make up an assembly. Around 15-minutes for each piece.

Example:
The step assemblies on my Justice League batmobile.
They have been progressing along in 10-15 minute periods.

Update on my Justice League batmobile.
In summary, I am around 85% completed on the bottom and core frame modifications.

Put in four hours today on my Justice League batmobile.
Cut, fitted, and tack welded remaining plates on front angled inside core frame.

My Justice League batmobile is growing into quite a beast.

It seems to emit a feeling of massiveness when I stand before it.

Some of that feeling can be felt when looking at the attached photo-image attached but it falls far short when compared to being with it in person.
