Put in 6-hours on DOJ/Justice League donor vehicle preparation.
Removed exhaust system, then stripped passenger side frame rail of cables, wires, and tubes, code labeling those possibly relevant to reuse in the future construction of this build.

Tomorrow, I will complete my photo log on the driver's side rail and components before stripping the cables, wires, tubes, and components, labeling those possibly relevant to reuse in the future construction of this build.

Purpose of the photo-image log is to create a readily useful reference for returning components, wires, cables, and tubes to their points and connections of original origins. vertigo

Completed my photo log entries on the driver's side rail and components before starting to strip the cables, wires, tubes, and components, labeling those possibly relevant to reuse in the future construction of this build.

Purpose of the photo-image log is to create a readily useful reference for returning components, wires, cables, and tubes to their points and connections of original origins.

A photo-image log can save you many hours of headache and aggravation. A photo-image log together with a maintenance manual that covers the year of your donor will be worth the money in time saved.
A factory service manual that covers your donor is even better. Most can be found on Amazon/Ebay for a reasonable price.
A picture is worth a thousand words when you are trying to return components, wires, cables, tubes to their original points of connection and original origins as well as to understand complex spatial relationships.
It only takes a few minutes to record a few photo-images in your photo-image log. vertigo

Spent a few more hours on removing my donor vehicle's wiring harness.

photo log is a great plan. Really looking good. Good to see at least one of us is working on an actual donor car.

hey sly,
Thanks for the kind words.
Any progress towards your donor or concept for use as a donor?

I gotta post updates too... drivetrain has been pulled from my donor car to go into my KITT build, and donor car now awaits the arrival of the chassis jig so it can be mounted and things can start getting moved around. I should be picking up the jig in the next couple of weeks when I drop off KITT for paint the plan is to pick up the jig then.
I hope to get video logs of some of these builds going soon too.

Several ideas and possibilities. But I am not in a big rush for that right now. Want to stay focused on the body shell and not get distracted from that at this point. That being said, it has been VERY hard to find time to do anything right now. I am getting a little frustrated with my busy schedule.

The past few days spent on this part of my donor preparation has made for quite an impressive pile.

Completed removal of components, cables, wires, and tubes, code labeling those possibly relevant to reuse in the future construction of this build.

So you have a 2wd chassis... this means all your front end hubs, brakes, suspension geometry, and steering rack are usable. For information-sake can you flip your front wheels around and mount them backwards on the hubs, with the super positive offset to the inside, then take measurements across to the outside edge of the tires?

For design of the front end purposes, are you intending just to drive it around at low speeds just for show, or do you need to get up to highway speeds safely?

You can use your rear end, but it will need to be customized... it is already slightly offset, but once you flip the motor around you will need a 4wd transmission and transfer case that go with that truck's engine, easy enough as most are 4wd, and you can sell that stick shift tranny real easy to offset some costs. You will then move the axle over for the pinion to be within range of the transfer-case front drive shaft, but still have some pinion offset for good wear characteristics.
Once those items are in rough position then you'll see how far the driver side axle tube will have to be extended. And by that I mean the axle tube will come out of the center housing and a new one of the final length will need to be pressed, then welded in, and a new lengthened axle to match installed there as well. Then add the 4-link brackets
Either that or we can figure out the measurements and diff housing position, then get Currie or the like to build it to the spec needed with all the appropriate suspension brackets for the suspension design.
This is basically the configuration you will end up with from the back...

From the side you can see how you will position your transmission(red) transfer case(blue) front-to-rear driveshaft(green)

Notice the air intake positions I highlighted in yellow, where you'd route the exhaust in red, and where the diff center housing sits in blue... these are very close to the B-mobile's locations of the same pieces... the air scoop intakes alongside the cockpit go right to these air intake positions, and the exhaust gets routed right out the massive back center tip, etc. etc.

keep that harness and ECU stuff intact and handy, because you will need put it back into the new engine location.
If you are not running AC in the new rig you can remove the compressor to save a lot of engineering headache, but you may want to go with a standalone AC unit for comfort sake in the vehicle without easy roll down windows and ventilation.
The power steering pump will either come off to simplify more, and an electric power steering setup added to help at the front... or you will have to run new super long lines to feed it from the rear mount position.
Your wire harness will become simpler as these things are decided.

notice the shifter this particular trophy truck example is even using...

THEMAN
"For information-sake can you flip your front wheels around and mount them backwards on the hubs, with the super positive offset to the inside, then take measurements across to the outside edge of the tires?"

I reversed the front wheels/tires a while back and the outside measurement of the two reversed front wheels/tires came out to 8' 4".

For design of the front end purposes, are you intending just to drive it around at low speeds just for show, or do you need to get up to highway speeds safely? Planning to drive it at highway speed.

Thanks for all the information and it is greatly appreciated.
