Nice job. The top came out REALLY nice. Did you round the corners after you sealed it? Did you use the putty idea to seal it?

Now you need to get it attached to the car!!!bn (We need some DOJ emoticons)

"Nice job. The top came out REALLY nice."
Thanks for the kind words.

"Did you round the corners after you sealed it?"
Rather than use a sanding block I used a new 2" wide 16" long metal file to level the top and round the corners.
For a blending and contouring project like this the file described above is hard to beat.
The file cuts so clean that the job required no finish sanding"

Did you use the putty idea to seal it?"
No. After laminating the top 3/8" with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin I just built the top surface up with an 1/8" , or so, of epoxy resin. Let it cure for 3-days and it was ready to shape and finish.

Decided to improve the work space I have been using for my DOJ/Justice League batmobile.
Put in fourteen hours on this work space upgrade.
Ran conduit to an extension breaker panel.
Wired up two 230V welding outlets, two quad 120V outlets, and three over the build 300W dropdown lights.
Still plan to paint the walls around the build with 2-3 coats of white paint.

Looked over my DOJ/Justice League donor vehicle today.
There are a lot of wires and tubes connected to a lot of places. Looks pretty overwhelming at first look.
Will need to label each connector and it's attachment location before I disconnect them. Even photo-image some.
That is, if I hope to have any chance of getting everything back together again!!!

The goals I am currently working toward are labeling and removing the wires/tubes/connectors.
Then removing the transmission/engine.
After this, stretching the frame out to a 175" wheelbase.

Wheel looks good...cleaned up real nice.

Are you still planning to use the truck chassis and flipping the drivetrain around to the rear? Possibly use a front of 4WD driveshaft + the transfer case locked in engaged position + that current dually rear axle for a reasonably priced version of what they built on the movie vehicle?

If so I would not waste time just lengthening the existing chassis, as once you build out the rear triangulated 4-link around the new motor placement, you can then make your wheelbase whatever you need to at that point.
If keeping the full frame rails, you will want to chop and place them out wide enough to get the entire cockpit insides set in between the rails... as you want to keep that whole compartment and the body of the vehicle as reduced in height as possible. You may want to take passenger compartment measurements of the c5-c6 corvettes or 93-95 rx7s just to scale out that space and where the rest of the chassis has to fit around that compartment.

Keep your front half of the frame from the firewall forward intact, so you can easily build the longer front upper and lower A-arms off the existing chassis connection points and still have drive-able suspension geometry.

Thanks for the kind words. vertigo

Note: I remove the metal plate (held in by two sided sticky tape) and did not reuse it.
Rather, I used the sticker you printed and put it where the metal plate had been and then cut some clear plastic to cover the sticker.

Nice thought on the plate change, I bet that plastic gives it a nice depth in person.

We're all here to help bud! I can draw up a quick little plan of attack/blueprint if it would help... there are many ways to skin a cat.
If you are trying to stick with the ram stuff, the later 2500-up hds had a four link type rear end that could cut down on some axle modding for you as well...
Batmobile
but with the amount of welding you're doing, an extra jig to do the work on the rear end you have won't be that much more to do anyway.

If it is not too much trouble I would greatly appreciate your offer to "draw up a quick little plan of attack/blueprint." Always looking for new ways to skin this DOJ/Justice League cat.
