The photo-images of the movie correct steering wheel appear to have shallow box openings behind two of the slider switches.
Did a color shift analysis.
A comparison of color and black and white images revealed: Both images are attached to this post.
The boxes in the images are the result of shadows and small labels fooling the eye.
Black and white brightened up images show there are no shallow slide boxes.

Do you think the sliders are glued on top of the fake switches or do you think those fake switches a ground down?

"Do you think the sliders are glued on top of the fake switches or do you think those fake switches a ground down?"

I firmly believe they are placed directly on top of the raised pointers without grinding them down.
I think glue would be too weak and would not stick to the slider knob plastic that I have in my possession.
I plan to use screws from behind the front panel to secure mine.
Then I'll use JB Weld to fill the non-even gap between them.

Removed sheet aluminum front.
It was secured to the plastic steering wheel with a few strips of double sided adhesive tape.
Partially flattened down raised dial pointers.
Drilled holes through dial pointers through aluminum and plastic.

Drilled and cut threads in slider knobs.
Placed machine screws through back of plastic and into threaded plastic sliders.
The only way the mounting of these slider knobs could be made any stronger would be if they were made of metal.

Put in a little time on my DOJ /Justice League movie correct steering wheel.
Turned the backside of the center hub and trued the front side.

sly,

Making the hub out of stainless steel.
Maybe 3-hours to complete machining. Maybe more.
Need to stop by a hardware store to find a hex drive machine bolt and the 5 smaller face bolts for center of hub.
