Hey sly,

I also, received my DOJ Batarang from Quantum Mechanix today.

This is the third best manufactured 1:1 replica Batarang that I’ve
ever seen. A quality piece; outstanding in every way. The Ice Batarang
from ICONS is still the best of them all but not by much over this
one. What is hard to believe most about this DOJ Batarang is that it
only cost 50.00. Given the extreme quality and perfect manufacturing
execution, a 200.00 price tag would not at all seem unreasonable.

Could also be added to the DOJ Batmobile as a steering wheel center,
tire hub centers, dash board inlay, exterior inlay below access
handles, etc., etc,…………………………

PS: The reason this Batarang has a heft to its feel is because zinc
weighs 90.8% of steel. So, this Batarang weighs 9.2 % less than the
same Batarang made in steel. The Batarangs used in filming the actual
movie were made of aluminum. So this zinc Batarang weighs 2.65 times
more than those used in the actual filming.

The relevant weights of metals per cubic foot in pounds.

Steel: 490     Zinc: 445.3    Aluminum:   168

Thought about what you said about buying a couple more.

Figure that’s a good idea just in case resellers may make a run on
these and jack the prices up during the delay that it would take the
manufacturer to catch up demand. So, I just bought two more, just in
case.

Had bought an Arkham Knight plastic replica a while back and a week ago I bid for a replica custom manufactured in knife grade stainless steel alloy. Received it today. Outstanding piece and so sharp you can shave the hair on your arm with it.

Finally acquired the last Batarang that I needed to complete my movie
appearance timeline based display of Batarangs

ICONS BATMAN BATARANG LIMITED EDITION PROP REPLICA

Considered by most as the best Batarang display piece ever created.
I’ll let the posted photo-images speak for themselves.

As seen in the movie "BATMAN & ROBIN", made by the now defunct company
ICONS. This Batman's Batarang authentic replica is a precise
reproduction of an original Batarang used in filming Batman & Robin. A
master mold was taken directly off an original used by actor George
Clooney in his role as Batman, the Dark Knight of Gotham City. Spun
cast in zinc metal and chrome plated, each Batarang is hand assembled
under the direct supervision of film and television special effects
artisans in the U.S.A. Item is in great condition. The black Plexiglas
display base features a Mr. Freeze influenced blue ice back-ground,
the whole display can be hung to the wall with the wall mount system
at the back of the display case. An edition of only 500 units were
created for Warner Brothers Studio stores back in 1997. It is believed
that Icons has never made the full run of this Batman Batarang before
they closed their door forever.

The Hot Wheels Elite Dark Knight Trilogy Batmobile
• Quality die-cast model car in 1:18 scale
I bought one of these on EBAY for 100.00, including shipping, when I started
doing my research to build a Tumbler. New on Amazon/EBAY they
currently go for 167.00 including shipping. Pre-owned they go for low
of 100.00. This would also make an excellent desk display and removed
from the metal base it could be used to make an excellent diorama.
Particularly, in the waterfall jump which is something that I’ve been
thinking about doing for a while now.
Product description from Ebay listing:
“The Dark Knight Trilogy BATMOBILE depicted in Christopher Nolan’s
films is a tank-like machine modified from a military vehicle called
THE TUMBLER. The films’ production designer described it as a car
boasting “Lamborghini lines combined with tank functions: cannons
mounted on the front.” Four street-ready cars were constructed, with
each vehicle possessing sixty-five carbon fiber panels and costing
$250,000 to build. Two of the four cars were specialized versions: one
was the flap version, featuring hydraulics and flaps seen in detailed
close-up shots where the vehicle propelled itself through the air. The
other was the jet version in which an actual jet engine was mounted
onto the vehicle, fueled by six propane tanks. The full-sized vehicles
were driven and filmed on the streets of Chicago. Mattel’s 1:18th
scale model of this powerful machine features a custom-designed metal
display stand with a swatch of authentic Batman movie cape material!
Hot Wheels Elite offers this must-have model to all Batman fans and
enthusiasts! Incredibly detailed.”

Hot Wheels Elite Batman v Superman DOJ Batmobile release updates.
Most dealers that offer to sell this item are reporting a September 2017 release date.
One Mattel distributor is telling his dealers that Mattel is telling him that the release will probably not take place
until after the release of the Justice League Nov-17-2017.
Big Bad Toy Store has posted that there preorders have all sold out and that they are not taking anymore
orders at this time. All the others are still taking pre-orders.

Batmobile in ‘Justice League’ from Mattel’s badass replica
By Chris Begley on February 18, 2017
Remote controlled Batmobile from Mattel.
"Mattel says their new Batmobile toy is an exact replica of what fans can expect to see in Justice League, so it looks like Batman’s added a lot more fire power to his car. The toy will be available this summer for $250 and is pretty high tech! It has a real exhaust where smoke will come out of, plus a built in camera so you can see footage on your phone as you control the Batmobile remotely. It even includes a Batman figure."
