Here you go this is just a mock up for size seeing what i can get away with. the back end is part of some kinda drainage system. about 5 inches wide. The final version will probably be aluminium and smaller. later

So the shell finally turned up after the long ride overseas to Australia.
It wasn't as wide as I was expecting.

Chassis rolled under the shell.
Wheels look to line up ok. But looks are deceiving! The more I tried to get everything in the right place, the more frustrated I became.

So after walking around the car for ages and measuring heaps and heaps of spots, my brain was starting to melt.
Not much seemed to line up from one side to the other.
Both front wheel arches are not the same size and radius.
Both rear wheel arches are a different size and the top of the drivers arch was about 2 inches higher than the other side.
So after speaking to Doug, who suggested to get it aligned right, you need to move at least 1 wheel arch.
Well why move just 1 when you can move 2 I figured???
So I aligned the 2 front wheels and then got the chainsaw out. Unholy will know the feeling.

So that is the drivers side (US drivers side, actually my passengers side).
It is coming along well, have laid up a few layers of chopped strand mat on the inside. Will do a total of about 6 layers I think.
On the outside where the hole is quite big I will see how I go using kitty hair.
On the real small cut lines I will just use filler (i think you call it bondo).
Once this is done I will make a template from this wheel arch and make the other side the same. Might be a bit more work as the diameter is smaller of the other side

LOL, yeah centering the wheels is next to impossible. I got mine "close" and I'll be doing the same as you.. Cutting the wheel arches and making them symmetrical
