I plan to have mine manually operated, at least the drivers side

Their functionality is dependent on which car we are talking about. As I understand it, and from what I have read on the forum, your best bet is something along the lines of a VW bug wiper motor. That is if you want them to work. Also, the definition of "functional" is dependent on state requirements. There are not many with working motors.

Carmel replicar had wipers but Returns car had non-functional wipers just for show. In the UK all road cars MUST have wipers and drivers side mirror too
Best check out your local regulations. It's getting tougher in the EU to build/modify yer own

From talking with many Rod builders, almost all choose Model T style wipers for their simplicity and they are readily available at a low cost. Most important, they are no-nonsense installation.
To build the impossible dream . . .
