So i've been reading all the threads on this website here and there, and im really excited to build my own 89!! I was wondering if its possible at all to mold my own Batmobile kit using Fiberglass and Polyester Resin. I want to start building my own 89' but I'm just a 23 year old student and can't afford to buy the ready made kit which i believe Doug provides. If i can't build one, ill just have to wait and save up the money. Any tips would be awesome! I can't wait to start building my own. Finding a 91-96 Caprice would be no problem for me since my friend is a mechanic but the Batmobile kit seems to be the most difficult thing to obtain for me
I was reading this simple website on how to use Fiberglass http://www.wikihow.com/Use-a-Fiberglass-Kit
/edit I forgot to mention, I have to credit Matt's '89 Build, after checking out his log and watching his videos, it really motivated me to build my own!!! You did an awesome job Matt

Hey one thing this site will drive into is if there is a will there is a way.
If you're willing to make the commitment you can make one as good or as bad as you want.
look the site over when you get access to everything, just keep posting be helpful to others and look at the builds
some good some not so good but people have put a lot of heart it their work. no one will judge you for trying and failing as long as you try.
Start small look at the smaller scale versions and he work that went into those, look at you tube on scratch built cars with foam and fiberglass it will give you some idea as to what you might be in for...
later
good luck

Thanks a lot i appreciate your advice
I actually found an awesome website "One-Off Construction Using Fiberglass Over Foam An Overview of How to Work with Fiberglass Over Foam"
They give a figure of $900 cost to build a car kit using fiberglass/foam.

Gonna be tough to build molds

I believe this thread goes under the forum section. 'Cave Workshop". If an admin can move it there, it would be nice.
