Hey all,
I bit the bullet this morning, and finally decided after much reading and research to have my first restoration be a fully street legal 89 Batmobile.
I know that I'm going to have to make quite a few modifications to make this happen, including rear view camera/mirror, blinkers (easy enough, just get multi-functional tail lights), and side view mirrors (NO idea how to do this one), Windshield wipers (another NO idea how to do this one), and working headlights w/ high beams/low beams.
I'm looking at a few different cars to use as donor cars. I found a cheap Impala at a local junk yard, under 200 bucks, but it needs a new engine. I have also looked at an 85 Vette for about 300 dollars. Anyone have any advice or preference?
I am also wondering what kind of engine to use in said car to allow me to get (decent) gas mileage in said car. I know I will never get amazing mileage, but hey, a penny saved....
Anyways, I'll be posting pictures/videos as this whole endeavor is underway. I hope you all enjoy it.

I just found myself a 1996 oldsmobile 98 that I could haul for free. Runs fine, just has some body damage (Which wont matter anyway) Anyone think this car might work?

The most commonly used chassis is the 91-96 Caprice/Impala/Roadmaster
It typically has the right track width and people here know the size of rims and backspacing needed to make that chassis work.
You can use pretty much any chassis that you modify, it just can be easier if you use something others have used to be able to learn from their experiences.
I'm using a 1991 Caprice Classic for my build.
