How many of us have thought about building a functional 89 Batwing!
Here is why the 1989 Batwing as currently configured won't fly without tearing itself apart in a violent ending with little warning.

Would it be possible to create a real-life, flyable Batwing using the design from Batman (1989)?
Could a jet with this design be fully operational?

“Forward-swept wings, like those at the end of the batwing, are interesting. They have the advantage of directing the air-flow into the control surfaces rather than away from them, so you should get a more maneuverable aircraft.
However, they also direct the shockwave straight into the fuselage, which may be a bad idea if you want to go supersonic, especially if the forward wingtips are not far behind the nose. But if you don’t want to go supersonic, that’s probably not your main problem.
The main problem in any case is that, eh, wings generate lift, and in the case of forward-swept wings, the lift at the wingtip is ahead of the wing, lifting the wing up into the windstream creating more lift at the wingtip. If the wingtip is behind the wing, the airstream over the wing just pushes the tip down again, so it balances itself off. But a forward-swept wing may simply tear itself off with just a slight flutter at the wingtip.
So, you need to make a wing that bends backwards rather than upwards, engineers have tried.”

I’ve got a 1/6 scale 89 batwing on order and the 1/6 bvs bat plane. I’ll need an extra room on the house

Hey B Bop, where did you order your 1/6 '89 Batwing from?
