I was just teasing, yeah Ill definitely be going with all new parts although I’m unsure what I’m doing with the motor. I’m either gonna buy a crate motor or rebuild with some upgrades. I mean if we are going big, we might as well go all the way right

No matter what you'll be fabricating parts into your build. Most of us just buy new parts because we need to do so much fabrication. Your not going to be able to use a lot of the parts from the caprice. Sure you could use as many parts as you can from it but if your going for screen accurate your not going to use much of the caprice. If your going for your own take on the 89 batmobile go for it! Personally im making my own vision of it on the inside. If you can make the parts from the caprice work thats great . Most guys on here will tell you to get newer parts because older parts don't always hold up or have problems. Most of us use stainless steel because it doesn't rust. Personally I would recommend using stainless steel over the hood, top, or any other body parts that could rust. Mostly due to those body parts experiencing some type of weathering over the years from rain, snow or salt. I'm all about recycling and using what you can but for some things you gotta bite the bullet and put more money/time into it haha. As always Keep up the good work Bat-brother

Any of you running a DH body deviate from the 140" total wheelbase?

I am measuring center hole to center hole on the driver side and I'm getting ~139" Passenger side is a bit shorter. I also read a few of you had fitment issues with the driver front. I know the body is not symmetrical but it certainly doesn't measure out to 140"
I'm leaning toward a 139 stretch.

Weld through primer on the inside of the C channels.

Lesson: two wheel stops on the rear wheels don't help when you cut the frame in half.....I thought as I saw the front end of the car begin sailing towards the garage door....

so I thought about things.....
I thought, why am I stretching to a number instead of to the body...
So, I split the booster/master cylinder, disconnected the AC and heater lines, split the lower steering shaft and wrestled the electrical harness from inside the passenger side dash, fed it out through the firewall to finally get the firewall removed and out of the way.

Will lower the body now over the chassis to set up the stretch length.
Im moving at a snails pace poking along.

Had to lop off some of the rear frame....will need to cut further...probably to the next frame hole for clearance.
