No when Tim called me with his measurements on his 3D printed side mechanics compared to all my real parts they were almost dead on ,and since he was so generous with his file for everyone to use its like getting the best of both worlds accurate mechanics so they do not weigh a lot on your car or if you break one or someone grabs one your not out a huge amount of money. I think Jack is making these for sale still if you need a set.You might contact AKA junk for info.

How did you even see that in the pic? Never would have noticed, that was strictly cosmetic right?

I didn't want to look through every post so I apologize if this was posted about this before. We have a 1989 Batmobile replica and we are looking for someone who can make the side mechanics out of metal. There are cast ones on it now, but my friend really wants the parts out of metal. His last Batmobile had them, but he sold it and wants them on the new car. Any help would be appreciated. I can be emailed at JamesBondMustangGT@gmail.com with info. Thank you all very much.

JamesBondDB9,

It looks like your buddy has fiberglass shells. For the money, you can’t do much better than epoxy cast side mechanics from (Tims) 3D printed parts. I could have a set of metal ones cut up, but the cost is prohibitve. Chunks of material, 5 axis time, shot peening to get the feel, anodizing and then faux painting aging, etc all add up to a number that is probably be close to or exceed a body shell. There is also the possibility of some real side mechanic pieces. That is if you have 5 digits to spare...

We have a group of guys who are going in on epoxy cast from 3D. PM me if interested. Also looking into sand casting parts from 3D, but still quite expensive. Also considering epoxy cast Ram Air Turbine, which will definitely be a pricy part.

Has anyone else noticed that the hot air valve is the same part for both sides ??
Up until tonight I hadn't, and have spend ages trying to get a decent left and right handed pair out of my 3d printer.

I missed this post before. I believe it is a switch for releasing the canopy from the outside. The 92 Returns car in CarsoftheStars UK had it.
