One third scale statues have been steadily becoming more popular.

Here is a piece of artist signed classic Batman Portrait Art being offered on EBay

This is an amazing high-quality print featuring the art of NEAL ADAMS.  It features BATMAN and is SIGNED by the artist.  This print features PAINTED ART by the legendary Neal Adams.  As with just about every piece of art Neal has ever done, this piece was so good it deserved to get reproduced as a print!  The detail is incredible.  The print measures 11 x 14 and is suitable for framing.  It is printed on thick art stock.  If you cannot get out to see Neal at one of the many conventions he is attending this year, this is the next best thing as we get these directly from the artist.  I still get asked if these pieces are "signed".  They are SIGNED...hand-signed by the artist directly in front of me each and every time.  I don't have many of these and they sell VERY fast so don't hesitate on these.  Please check our other auctions for more incredible art by Neal Adams (and others) at great prices.  Purchase multiple items and save on shipping!

The current popular growing trend in Batman figures/statues and many other statues as well is called focused intensity suspended pause dynamic action. A fancy term that simply means freezing the action of the figure/statue in such a way that it gives the viewer a feeling that the action is paused, almost idling, still sparking with energy, and almost ready to break free of its suspension into action at any moment.
A good example is the attached photo-images of an Iron Studios 1/10 Arkham Knight Batman.

For comparison I have attached a second images that illustrates the conventional posed static figure/statue.
When the two photo-images are compared side by side it is easy to see and understand the "focused intensity suspended pause dynamic action pose" verses the conventional static pose.

QUICK GUIDE to the CHARACTERISTICS of VALUE for BATMAN RELATED
FIGURES/STATUES and RELATED SCULPTURES.

First, know the motivations of why you are considering making an
acquisition and/or purchase.

Beauty, collecting, investment, resale, and gifting, usually in
combinations, are the top five reasons.

Collectability:  Usually divided into categories.

Actual money value:  Determined by popularity, demand, availability,
etc.  Supply and Demand.

Something is only truly worth what someone else will pay you for it.

Modern/present days Batman money values are determined by popularity,
demand, artistic execution, production number manufactured, and number
of pieces in play or still available for purchase.

Vintage Batman money values are determined by popularity, demand,
artistic execution, original production number manufactured, and
number of surviving pieces from the production run.

In today’s world of artistic consumer demand:

Realism in general is worth several times more than abstraction.

Very highly detailed, anatomically correct figure/statue renderings,
some with even facial hair, are at the top of demand. The human figure
has always been the number one most enduring theme in the visual arts.

Errors in human proportions are not well tolerated by many of today’s
statue/figure consumers and research has shown that deviations from
the expected norms are not well received in sales.

Expected human figure proportional relationships:

An average person is generally 7-and-a-half heads tall (including the head).

An ideal figure, used for an impression of nobility or grace, is drawn
at 8 heads tall.

A heroic figure used in the depiction of gods and superheroes is
eight-and-a-half heads tall. Most of the additional length comes from
a bigger chest and longer legs.

Note that these proportions are most useful for a standing model.
Poses which introduce foreshortening of various body parts will cause
them to differ.

When it comes to the human body, artists are painfully critical; the
proportions of a still life do not have to be sculpted perfectly to
look authentic, but even the slightest error in human proportions will
be easily detected by even the novice collector.

Figure/Statue anatomy is the first level of concern, closely followed
by the Figure-ground relationships, and other aspects that balance of a
composition.

The Characteristics of Near Universal Beauty
Wikipedia
As it applies to Batman related figures, statues, and sculpture.
What the artist considers when creating a Batman figure or statue.

An "ideal beauty" is an entity which is admired, or possesses features
widely attributed to beauty in a particular culture, for perfection.

The experience of "beauty" often involves an interpretation of some
entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to
feelings of attraction and emotional well-being. Because this can be a
subjective experience, it is often said that "beauty is in the eye of
the beholder."

Balance, symmetry, and proportion.

Ancient Greek
The Pythagorean School saw a strong connection between mathematics and
beauty. In particular, they noted that objects proportioned according
to the golden ratio seemed more attractive. Ancient Greek statues are
based on this view of symmetry and proportion.

The Age of Reason
Beauty is truth, truth beauty, and art is the most truthful, the
closer it matches reality.

The 20th century saw an increasing rejection of beauty by artists and
philosophers alike, culminating in postmodernism's anti-aesthetics.
This is despite beauty being a central concern of one of
postmodernism's main influences, Friedrich Nietzsche, who argued that
the Will to Power was the Will to Beauty.

In the aftermath of postmodernism's rejection of beauty, artists have
returned to beauty as an important value and truth as a faithful
representation of reality.

Human beauty and physical attractiveness in figures and statues.

Standards of beauty have changed over time, based on changing cultural
values. Historically, paintings show a wide range of different
standards for beauty. However, humans who are relatively young, with
smooth skin, well-proportioned bodies, and regular features, have
traditionally been considered the most beautiful throughout history.

A strong indicator of physical beauty is "averageness When images of
human faces are averaged together to form a composite image, they
become progressively closer to the "ideal" image and are perceived as
more attractive.

Under more controlled conditions it has been found that the computer
generated, mathematical average of a series of faces is rated more
favorably than individual faces. Scientists argue that it is
evolutionarily advantageous that sexual creatures are attracted to
mates who possess predominantly common or average features, because it
suggests the absence of genetic or acquired defects

Beauty is a characteristic of an animal, idea, object, person or place
that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction.
Beauty is studied as part of aesthetics, culture, social psychology,
philosophy and sociology. An "ideal beauty" is an entity which is
admired, or possesses features widely attributed to beauty in a
particular culture, for perfection.

“In the case of Batman it is his eclectic whole of existence that
makes Batman what he is. His physical being and attributes in
combination with his intellect and moral philosophy. This combined
with the viewer’s characteristics determine the perception of the
Batman figure or statue’s beauty. (In the eyes of the beholder.”

Check out this two of a kind 1966 Batman Batcycle detachable go cart
independent powered vehicle.

We have all seen the 1966 Batcyle with sidecar for Robin but very few
remember that Robin’s side car could detach a mini go cart and drive
on its own.

A number of years back, one of the two Batcycle sidecar go carts that were built in
1966 by Richard “Korky” Korkes and Dan Dempski was sold at auction for
30,000.oo and today is estimated to be worth 100,000.oo.

The sidecar had a removable gas-powered go-kart that was deployed by
Robin. It was custom built and powered by a 55cc Yamaha engine. It had
motorcycle controls and a chrome moly steel frame.
Engine 55cc Yamaha
Carburetor Mikuni
Transmission Manual 3 speed
Ignition Electronic w/ push button start
Front wheels  5" Gar-Bro Wheel Co.
Rear wheels  5" Azusa
Tires Firestone Micro "500"  3.50-5
Brake  Airheart rear disc
Chassis construction Steel
Dimensions 55" x 25"

Now that we know and have proof that it existed, who out there is
going to step up and build the smallest Bat Vehicle?

Action Figures, Collectible Action Figures, Figurines, and Dolls

Part One
Understanding Doll Scale: 1:6, 1:4, 1:3 ; 1:12 & 1:2

Are Batman action figures dolls?
It's one of the most hotly debated issues among action figure
collectors: What is and what isn't an action figure?
Every collector has been faced with someone who's not in the know
calling their action figures "figurines" — or worse, "dolls."

Yes, no, sometimes. Batman related action figures are classified by
some in the eclectic, diverse, and extensive world of figure
collecting as dolls.

The origin of the phrase “action figure” is obvious, accurate,
documented, well defined, accepted, and true. Hasbro coined the phrase
to market the earliest G.I. Joe figures to boys who considered dolls
to be a “girl's toy.” Under Hasbro’s definition, an “action figure” is
considered to be any poseable doll marketed to boys. Barbie collectors
adamantly claim Barbie and Ken, etc. to be dolls. Today there are
action figures marketed to girls, to boys, and some to both boys and
girls.

Here is a link to extensive information on ebay designed for the
action figure and doll collectors.
